Minor children, adults, and older adults who are experiencing mental health or development difficulties that prevent them from appropriately managing their financial resources should be appointed a payee to assist them with their financial management.
A representative payee helps beneficiaries who need assistance in managing their benefits. A representative payee’s responsibilities include:
Appropriately saving any remaining benefits
Keeping good records of how benefits are spent
Using benefits to pay for the current and foreseeable needs of the beneficiaries
Average Length of Service
Ongoing, as needed
Frequency & Location of Contacts
As needed to fulfill payee responsibilities
This service is open to all age groups but requires a referral made to service by Human Service Case Management.
