We hope everyone is finding ways to stay warm through this bitter cold period.
Needless to say, the ice is safe on Justus Lake and many folks have been out there ice fishing.
The Park's 3rd Annual Winterfest is scheduled for Saturday, January 25th and the Venango Fatherhood Initiative has indicated it will be held as scheduled.
This event will begin at Pioneer Flats at 11:30 AM. The Park's FREE "Learn-To-Ski" Day is also scheduled for Saturday, January 25th from 10 AM - 2 PM.
However, we will need several more inches of snow to hold the event.
A second FREE "Learn-To-Ski" Day is also scheduled for Saturday, February 8th from 10 AM - 2 PM.
Anyone interested in the ski days is asked to please call the Park Office and pre-register for a lesson time.
The next Full Moon Night Hike will be held on Saturday, March 15th leaving the Nature Lodge at 6 PM.
The Park's Trail Committee will be meeting on Monday, February 3rd at 5:30 PM in the Nature Lodge.
The spring, summer and fall events schedule will be finalized at the meeting.
Justus Lake is open for fishing.
Anyone wishing to moor their boats, canoes or kayaks should contact the Park Office.
The cost is $25 for 6 months and $40 for one full year.
The Park Office hours are now set for the off season.
The office will be open from 9-5 Monday - Saturday and from 10 AM - 4 PM on Sunday.
